Architectural and interior journey
The boutique evokes the glorious style of historic Parisian apartments, blending grandeur and modernity to create a timeless charm. Exuding warmth and refinement, the first room is panelled in richly hued oak, with hand-sculpted and gilded mouldings. The ceiling is covered with Régence gold leaf, the work of a French master craftsman, Louis- Daniel Jouve. Contrasting with this richness, the Henry Jacques signature Corian niches house the collection of the 50 ‘Les Classiques’ and a pair of Bergère1930 armchairs, designed by Jean-Michel Franck and Adolphe Chanaux, invites visitors to sit while discovering the scents.
In the inner, more intimate space of the boutique, woods are complemented by premium fabrics from Holland & Sherry. The sumptuousness of the gold-leaf ceiling is amplified by the furnishings, which include a cosy green velvet sofa and an antique secretaire desk from La Maison James in Saint-Ouen, near Paris, which houses Henry Jacques’ Masterpieces. A seamless blend of personal creations, contemporary design and treasured antiques, the boutique’s design is imbued with history and fond memories and invites visitors to create their own memories through the discovery of Henry Jacques’ exquisite perfumes.
Neighbourhood
The Singapore boutique is located at Marina Bay Sands. The most spectacular building in the city, recognised the world over as an architectural icon, its three hotel towers are topped by a three-acre ‘Skypark’ with swimming pools, gardens and jogging paths. At ground level, a soaring atrium links the three towers; lined by the boutiques of many of the world’s leading brands, this pedestrian ‘street’ has become a sought-after shopping destination that offers welcome respite from the city’s tropical heat. For Henry Jacques, it was an entirely natural decision to make its Singapore home in this landmark.
