Architectural and interior journey

A beautiful garden welcomes visitors – an enchanting and rare find in central Paris – filled with the delicious scents of more than 40 different plants.

Immediately on entering the boutique, dramatic black walls and cream- colored stone flooring with a wave-like pattern provide the gateway to a wonderful journey of discovery.

The journey begins in an oval-shaped hall where a new product or key piece of art is set on an imposing and dramatically lit island unit that invites visitors to view the different facets of the star piece from every angle.

An adjacent room houses a perfume bar, where all fifty of the Henry Jacques ‘Les Classiques’ – the essences at the core of the Maison – are showcased, alongside raw components; here, an expert perfumer offers visitors an interactive discovery experience. An additional room is dedicated to the art of giving.

A space at the foot of a magnificent staircase features backlit wall niches, also housing Henry Jacques’ complete ‘Les Classiques’ range, inviting visitors to uncover each perfume’s olfactive notes on their own, thanks to scannable NFC tags.

Moving through the expansive space downstairs, a series of lounges called ‘espaces art de vivre’ are designed to make visitors feel at home. Two smaller rooms are dedicated to historic and museum pieces, shining a spotlight not only on the past, but also on what is still to come – from the Renaissance jewellery collection to the contemporary and innovative Clic-Clac.

Secret doors lead to an intimate VIP room where Bespoke consultations are held, as well as a private meeting or dining room.

Neighbourhood

After nine boutique openings around the world, Henry Jacques finally found a suitably exquisite place to settle in his own country. The 400sqm flagship is set in a beautiful Haussman building at 2 Avenue Montaigne – the very beginning of the street, next to the Seine and facing the Eiffel Tower. Always a highly prestigious address, by the 1980s, Avenue Montaigne was firmly established as la grande dame of French streets – the finest location for high fashion and accessories.

The avenue was named after the philosopher and writer Michel de Montaigne, one of the leading thinkers of the French Renaissance, whose seminal Essays remain influential today. Over the years, many members of high society made their home on Avenue Montaigne, including Soraya Esfandiary-Bakhtiary, the second wife of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi of Iran, who lived at No.46 in her later years, and actress Marlene Dietrich, who maintained an apartment at No.12 for many years, until her death in 1992.
