It all started with an intimate first meeting between Henry Cremona and “the one” who would become his wife, Yvette. Henry and Yvette, aesthetes at heart and avid pleasure seekers, would go on to launch their Perfumery with the sole aim of retaining and celebrating the beauty of life.
By creating refined essences at their own pace and wherever their hearts led them, a declining tradition was brought back up to date: French Haute Perfumery.
For Henry and Yvette, each perfume holds onto a memory that otherwise would have faded. It transforms a sentiment into a sensation and makes floating images rise to the surface with the persistence of beloved things.
Henry Cremona came across the exceptional ‘nose’ of Joseph Sassi, a representative of the French School of Haute Perfumery.
At a time when Perfume was being offered in mass and all beginning to be one and the same, their encounters and sharing of such a high level of excellence simply highlighted the distinction and the boldness of the Maison.
Anne-Lise Cremona, aware of having a treasure in her hands at a time when Perfumery was being standardized, did everything to ensure that Haute Perfumery resembled its era. Independent and passionate, and convinced that the excellence of the Maison would be compatible with contemporary finery, Anne-Lise Cremona has never ceased inventing and opening the Maison to the world.
The very notion of Haute Perfumery was revitalized with so much care, that it is now presented in a more vibrant and lively light than ever. With his inherent feeling for sensuality and an uncompromisable determination to keep tradition alive, Christophe Tollemer, the designer and artistic director, designed a unique universe of forms, from bottles to shop spaces.
Through their close rapport and their fruitful differences, the duo crackle with the same enthusiasm, their curiosities ceaselessly applied to the world. Combining high standards and intuition, Maison Henry Jacques, under their leadership, has become a world of assertive aesthetics, bustling with cultivated histories and subtle synesthesia.
