Nestled within the Salon de Parfums on the sixth floor of Harrods, the refined comfort of the Henry Jacques alcove welcomes visitors as if they were at the home of a very elegant friend.
Concealed behind richly draped curtains, the room is decorated with gold leaf, embroidery and warm polished wood from the 17th and 18th centuries, with secret drawers and cupboards hidden within the panelling.
Creating a modern contrast, an illuminated Corian arch conveys the modernity of the perfume lab, highlighting the technical aspects of elite perfume-making that are also expressed in the perfume organ.
Designed in the spirit of a cabinet of curiosities, the boutique invites visitors to discover the perfumer’s hidden treasures. Concealed within wooden pilasters are the couture collection fragrances, while boxed sets of collectibles are housed behind carved wooden three-fold panels.
In 2024, HJ celebrates 10 years of innovative ideas and complicity with Harrods by opening a new space designed to welcome intimate conversations, bespoke perfume consultations and special requests. Together, they continue to pave the way for the future of Haute Parfumerie, making it more alive than ever.
Henry Jacques’ London boutique is set within Harrods, a London icon widely viewed as the world's leading department store. Well known for its large network of private clients, offering incredible services in many ways to its faithful clients, Harrod’s is internationally considered as pioneer in many fields. Housed in its landmark building in the heart of Knightsbridge, Harrods has, for more than 150 years, been defined by its motto: Omnia Omnibus Ubique, Latin for ‘all things for all people, everywhere’.
When initially planning its presence in London, Henry Jacques did not intend to partner with an existing business, preferring to retain its independence and control its own rhythm. However, Harrods’ management offered Henry Jacques carte blanche to create its own setting on the top floor of the store, around which the new Salon des Parfums would be developed. The opportunity was irresistible and has proved to be a rare example of complicity between two partners with deeply shared values.
Magnolia tingles with effervescent optimism and infinite possibility. Like fresh bedsheets on a weekend morning, it comforts and invigorates in equal measure. The steady florals of rose and jasmine are punctuated by sweet ylang-ylang, beguiling lily of the valley, and giddy aldehydics.
The addictive scent of Oudh Glam Or unfolds from rich complexity. The character portrayed is one of duality: light yet dark, soft yet powerful, calm yet dramatic. The decadent dehen el oudh is exalted by its companions for a warm, inviting, romantic perfume.
Royal Dream reclines, equipoised between authoritative power and gentle tenderness. Its aroma is the signature of refined opulence; resplendent resins entwine with enveloping florals for an uniquely dreamy perfume.
